9 high flush, turn decision, fold or push?
This is one of the hands from last night's Winning "O" Green $1580 tournament at the Bicycle Casino. 3000 chips, 25/25, 60 minute.
200/400/50. LP (20000) limps. Folds to Hero (18500) the SB, 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] check. BB (9000) checks. BB is a player I played with at Commerce LAPC. His image is tight/solid. But sometimes he overplays medium hands and makes strange moves dumping chips. Against me, he's pretty tight and cautious. LP and Hero are the CLs at the table, LP avoids direct confrontation with me at this early stage, he doesn't raise my blind without top 5% holding from LP. 3 players. Pot 1600. Flop A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] check, check, LP bets 800. call, call. Turn 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero bet 1500. BB raises to 5500 with 3800 behind. LP folds. Hero? Push? Fold? What's BB's range (check PF, check/call flop, raise turn)? =============================================== If we decide to fold, do we fold face up? Why? Why not? |

Re: 9 high flush, turn decision, fold or push?
I'm pushing.
His range has to include lower flushes, K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] + pair etc. enough for a call to be +EV. You''re committed if you call and need to protect your hand. |

[/ QUOTE ] i agree, push. but i think he's here with Q4/A4/Ax also. K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]+ pair is hard for me to see, if he has the AK, or KQ, i can't understand his line. and if he has K7 or K4 i understand his flop check/call even less. |

Re: 9 high flush, turn decision, fold or push?
How would we put a hand like this into Pokerstove? I'm trying to get some kind of range for BB, but right now what I am getting is a 94:5 favorite, but I don't think it's taking into account the suits of BB and only the strength of the made flush by Hero.

Re: 9 high flush, turn decision, fold or push?
Would you normally cr when you made you're draw?
This is a really tough spot, i really don't see him raising here with less than trips. As you told he's a regular so he probably noticed aswell that lp is playing tight at your blinds. Still he's commiting here with a tight big stack behind him. I hate it but with these reads and history I'd probably puke and fold. |

Re: 9 high flush, turn decision, fold or push?
I probably bet out the flop to take it down, but as played, shove. He's raising plenty of worse hands and although you're CLs, you're still not deep enough to fold here.

Re: 9 high flush, turn decision, fold or push?
With a LP limper behind, I decided not to lead the flop in case he raises me.
I was ready to push, but two things slowed me down: 1. Villain's raise indicated he's pot committed; villain's 9000 has enough FE; 2. I was trying to put villain on a hand which can check call the flop and raise (committed) on the turn. IMO, the minimum is a set, made flush. Considering we only put in 2500, fold is an option? Should we look for a better spot for a push? |

Re: 9 high flush, turn decision, fold or push?
I think your line here is fine and I push the turn. He likely has a misplayed 2 pair. I think another flush unlikely, but if he does have it you may still be ahead as he must have K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] to beat you.

Re: 9 high flush, turn decision, fold or push?
I've never played a 4-figure buy-in tournament, so I don't know much about the players. I'm definitely all-in with this hand though.
