2/4 AA pf, I want your m*ney DEEP inside...my wallet
Villain is partypoker's own h_a_l_l_o running at 17/13/2ish. I'd been 3betting a ton, but I hadn't been 5-bet anything all-in...Especially considering how deep we are. I'd 4bet ai against him with AK/AQ/JJ sometimes, but at a different table and for the standard 100BB.
What to do? Party Poker, $2/$4 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter Hero (SB): $734.50 BB: $462 UTG: $757.10 MP: $424.90 CO: $398 BTN: $1,601.20 Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB) UTG calls $4, 2 folds, BTN raises to $20, Hero raises to $76, 2 folds, BTN raises to $188, Hero wants all of villain's money and wants to know the best route to take. |

Re: 2/4 AA pf, I want your m*ney DEEP inside...my wallet
when you say that you're havent been 5ebtting all in, am i right to assume this means hes been 4betting you a lot and you have been giving up? if so, i like a shove. otherwise i think its pretty close between calling and shoving and would probably do either depending on my mood.
i think at these stakes 5betting a smaller amount is pretty much equivalent to shoving, so i just shove, i doubt hes calling a smaller 5bet with a wider range than hes calling a shove with. but if you have info that he might bluff shove over a smaller 5bet, or value shove wider, then go for it. |

He hasn't been 4 betting a lot. He has rarely been 4 betting.

i shove (or 5 bet for about 100bbs), i would imagine this deep given the action that he will play for pot control with almost all of this hands...

Let's switch it around then. Put yourself as the villain. You haven't seen him shove anything for 180BB, but you know what he shoves for 100BB (AQs+,JJ+). What do you call the 5bet shove with?

[/ QUOTE ] KK+. given my stats as the villain i wouldnt even be too crazy about calling with KK. im snap folding AQ and JJ, and cursing for about 5 seconds before finding the fold button with AK and QQ. the thing is, being this deep, if you only call the 4bet preflop then the villain will likely be playing for pot control from the get go unless he outflops you. so you're pretty unlikely to get his stack postflop from QQ-TT unless he hits, same going for AK-AQ, although maybe its possible on a K flop against AK. guess what im saying is that shoving and flatcalling both have their positives and negatives. on the balance i would shove as a standard play, but i dont mind calling from time to time. |

i think you want to balance your calls rather than your 5bet shoves at 180bb here.
