Default Lego

Is this a bit too much? There is no revenue stream on the website he is promoting but traffic = $$$ on the interwebz.

Meh, that's the most widely used hand converter on 2p2 at the moment for NL. He's working on updating and upgrading it, adding games, adding sites. He needs people to send him a bunch of hands to quality control it. He's done this in the past when he's upgraded in SSNL/uNL at least. There looks to be one main post and then links to it in various stratforums low content threads.

This is fine IMO.

Plus, if 2p2 ever decides they want to host a hand converter on site, this is probably the guy to do it with.

I would like to quote this because I think Mat should explore this opportunity.

FWIW, that has been suggested about a zillion times in the past.

I try not to think about the ways 2+2 should monetize or improve the site since they don't seem interested at all. It makes my head ring.

From personal experience I know for a fact this this belief is incorrect. Its a small company, they move slowly but new ideas are often discussed. Mat's priority has been with the new software/web design and there was a lot of focus assigned to the new books that were recently released as well, there is a time and place for everything - patience is a virtue... whats the rush?

My 2c in this matter is that Legopoker is by far and away the best HH converter ever and his promoting it on the site is highly beneficial, if only for the reason that it makes the job of strat mods so much easier. When some moran posts an unconverted or poorly converted hand you can just point them to Legopoker.

This site absolutely needs a hand converter. There are too many new posters who post raw HH dumps as is, and w/o a converter, we'd be inundated. Since Bison's is gone, what have we got to choose from?

DeucesCracked.com, a commercial site that is arguably sapping traffic from 2+2.
Flopturnriver.com, a direct competitor to 2+2's forums.
Neildewhurst.com, a site that is pimarily for the ITH.com forums.
Pokerzion.com, a poker site affiliate and coaching network.
Or Legopoker.com, a noncommercial site set up by a 2+2er that promotes 2+2 (slightly) and defaults to 2+2 settings.

It seems like a no-brainer as to which hand converter we should be most welcoming towards on this site. Virtually all the strat forums have have links to at least one HH converter in their stickies, and every hand post that employed a converter has a link back to both the HH converter used and the site that hosts it. By allowing the use of the above converters, we've basically allowed FTR.com, ITH.com, DC.com, and this PokerZion.com place to all make extremely well-targeted spam 2+2 that directly increases traffic on their sites. If we've got a 2+2er whose only agenda is to make 2+2 a better place with his converter, at the very least, we should welcome this guy as much as we can and give him what he wants, followed by axing all the links to other converters in all the stickies and replacing them with his.

Another vote for lego. There is no better alternative and having a good hand converter makes the strat forums a much happier place.
