Odds on NO/SD Superbowl
My friend is challenging me to "put my money where my mouth is" and to bet on my week 3 prediction of a sandiego/neworleans superbowl. He's offering me 3:1, with me only having to name the participants involved and not who will win.
I don't know anything about sportsbetting but this seems pretty awful value-wise... if I'm going for negotiation, are there any sites that would give me a line for something like this? Any idea what more standard odds would look like? Mock away, I've never gambled on sports before so I won't be offended. |

Re: Odds on NO/SD Superbowl
Wait till Tuesday and see the new lines for each team to make it. You will need to factor in both. 3 to 1 is going to be huge -EV though.
I don't think the Saints will be favored to win the NFC even after this week. They will gain equity though as they have every single week of this season it seems. |

NO is +334 to make the SB at WSEX. This is equivalent to a probability of 29.9%. The combined probability is .299 * .431 = 12.9%. Convert this back to a line and get +675 or 6.75:1. |

Re: Odds on NO/SD Superbowl
If you believe the WSEX prices then there's about a 60% chance that at least 1 of them makes the Super Bowl. A bargaining chip might be " OK, give me 3-2 if at least one of them make it." (The 'true' odds would be our little secret).
