Structure differences
What are the pro's and cons of the stars and party sng structures ?
Is there more variance in the party games because of the higher blinds/starting chips? How do the regular party sng's compare with the standard stars sng's? Is the structure of the standard party sng's somewhere in the middle of the stars standard and turbo games? And which have the better standard of players in the $10-$20 game range? Sorry for all the questions Thanks for any comments |

Re: Structure differences
If you can play party play party it's much fishier. The structure isn't different enough to make a difference.

Stars has antes so you really can't just sit around and wait for a good spot. Now that I think about it 10 man sngs are superior as well. You did get one thing right when you said if you can play party you shoud. |

Re: Structure differences
I would have to disagree about the 10 man s n g's being superior. In my mind the extra prize money does not compensate for the added person hanging around when the blinds put every medium stack's M at 5-8. Everybody starts pushing and that extra person decreases your chances at picking up the blinds without a fight. Also, the extra money in the total tournament pool increases the amount of chips you must gather to maintain your fold equity plays toward the middle/end. Even if the 10th man is always a complete donk, for the sake of argument, his chips will be flowing to the better players plural (and that will not always be you, other people get spots too) and that makes your life more difficult. On the flip side, if that person on average is a decent to good player then that is another player you must crush on the way to victory. That extra person makes it an an uphill battle over the long haul compared to a comparable 9 man S n G. IMO
