could possibly be a blocking bet by villain. would have to go with your read of villain. btw, you have 3rd pair. i know its technically the same but the difference between mid and 3rd can be deceiving in your title.

Depends on the villian imo. If he is aware of the draws on the flop, donīt you think he would have raised with a made hand, or bet the turn strongly ?
This looks like he is trying to price in a draw. I would call and try to check it down if he is passive, or minraise for a free showdown.
