Default Dead Man\'s Hand - Play it Right?

BB is somewhat loose passive, he's like 40/5 avg. aggression postflop

Button loose preflop, aggro postflop (overvalues TP (kicker or not))

Party Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $2/$4
6 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG, folds, UTG+1 (poster) checks, CO folds, Button calls, Hero calls, <font color="#cc0000">BB raises</font>, UTG+1 folds, Button calls, Hero calls.

Is completing too loose here? BB's raise is probably 77+, AT+, maybe KQs

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4SB, 3 players)
<font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">BB raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Button 3-bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero caps</font>, BB calls, Button calls.

Top/Bottom 2, we're capping this everytime right? BB range is AA, JJ, AJ-AK

Button's range is A3+, J8 and remotely possible monsters, T9, QT

Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (8BB, 3 players)
<font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, BB calls, Button calls.

Looks scary but not really based on flop action right?

Lead and ask questions later?!

River: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (11BB, 3 players)
<font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">BB raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Button 3-bets</font>, Hero insta mucks.

You like, yes?

Default Re: Dead Man\'s Hand - Play it Right?

It seems okay to me.

I'm relying on your ranges here, but my guess is that BB has a suited A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and backdoored a flush and Button thinks his A9 is good.

In any case, I really doubt your hand is good.

perfect.

only problem is this read: "BB's raise is probably 77+, AT+, maybe KQs" - looks too wide by far for a 5% PFR out of the BB. dont think it matters much to the hand though.

Default We have a psychic here!

Is the play correct up until the river? (cap flop, lead turn)?

You a fortune teller by any chance?

Results:

BB as you said has A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and Button has A7o...

Yeah, your line seems good to me, especially based on your reads. (It's reassuring that the flop 3-bettor has a tendency to overvalue his hands.)

I realize you could get outdrawn, but you're probably best on the flop, what, half of the time or so? (Interestingly, though, Button's 3-bet decreases the chances that you're beating BB, since Button's 3-bet indicates a likely ace, which promotes JJ percentage-wise in BB's range.)
