I think RAM will be the biggest factor. You want at least 1gb. 2gb will never hurt if you will be doing other stuff as well.

I would go with the AMD opteron 165. Dual core chip that is not much more than $100.

You can get single core chips that are pretty fast for <$100.

Do a search here. You will find several threads about system build specs.

Any new computer should be fine.. I have a 3 year old computer with 512MB Ram and I'm still okay for PT+ HUD+ I-tunes + Browsing and 4-tabling..

PT software itself is sorta slow though, I dunno if it has anything to do with the computer or the software itself.

PT and a HUD uses quite a lot of disk access, I put a second harddrive in my PC just to hold the PT database, which gave me a big improvement. Especially if you like to play movies or MP3s while playing poker!

You can get a Core2 Duo E4400 on Newegg for about $20 more that performes better. The E4300 that is 200Mhz slower beats out the Opteron by about 33% on CPUMark benchmarks, so the E4400 should be a 40% improvement or so.
