It's never "standard" to be willing to always go broke with the second nuts in PLO, even when not in a deep stack situation, and especially OOP where you will not be able to control the action as much and get a checked street when you want one. In this hand, you need a specific read, which you say you didn't have, that villain is capable of multi-street bluffing with the naked A or multi-street betting a worse flush or set only, in order to continue after the flop. So you should have c/f the turn.

Alright that's what I thought, I guess I will just chalk this one up to too many hours at the table.

Considering you have both the K and Q of diamonds, that makes your decision even easier. Can you see this opponent raising with a J-high flush or the naked Ad? Unlikely. Hence, this hand gets a big red 'donktastic' stamp on it.
