I was on someone's blog yesterday on blogger.com, and clicked on their profile picture. It showed up a little bigger in the blogger template and said click to view full size. I clicked and it downloaded a jpg that i could open in windows viewer or whatever app usually loads pictures like that.
I then ran a virus scan. Nothing showed up. My question is, could a keylogger come through something like that? Or can they only come when i run exe's? |

It could, there are known venerabilities, If you have your virus scanning stuff and windows updated, there's not reason to be really concerned unless you know otherwise. But yes, a jpg file could be compromised in such a way that it would allow executable code to be leaked to your computer if a unpatched vernability exists.

As long as your windows is up to date, I wouldn't worry about it. The big bad JPG vulnerability was patched multiple years ago and I would consider JPG pretty bulletproof.
