Short stacking.. what u guys think
I am mostly a live player, and have never really enjoyed playing NL holdem online. Also i play about 5-8 hours a day live, so dont wanna burn myself out bye playing every second of the day. Recently i read an article about short stacking on line and thought this could be a goo dproject for me. I could play a few hours a day and multi table as many as 6 tables at a time without having to make ne "tough"decisions n burn me out for my live game. Wondering if ne one has had ne success. I should also add that i will not be squirlling chips after every double up, i would then play the able accordingly with my new chip stack to get adjusted to multi tabling NL holdem, something i admit i suck at

Re: Short stacking.. what u guys think
my basic question is if neone has had ne successs with it. It seems like such an easy strategy, j/w if ne one could add to things that have helped them, or things they have learned along the way

Re: Short stacking.. what u guys think
most people are against short stackers and thus are not going to be giving you advice that really matters.
Also, good short stackers are not going to share their secrets (are there secrets?). Instead of short stacking, start off low and work your way up as you gain confidence. NL25 should be a good starting point. |

Re: Short stacking.. what u guys think
If you want to SS you have to play a lot of tables (12 not 6) for a lot of hours of the day if you want to make any real $ (cuz you will be pulling in a whopping 2ptbb/100 IF you are good).
It sounds like you'd be better off using you time to smoke weed, learn guitar and/or pick up chicks. Just my opinion... |

Re: Short stacking.. what u guys think
You can probably grind out a somewhat decent hourly if you get high enough short-stacking.
However, I've read many things that say players get burned out after SS for a regular period of time. Your poker game becomes robotic, and you will NOT improve as a player. Also, I would think poker might become boring and unstimulating after a while of SS'ing. I would start 4-tabling a low limit like 25NL as Mr Donk said. Then, as you get more comfortable, add tables and move up. Also, purchase PokerTracker if you don't have it already. This might be the best $50 you spend. |

Re: Short stacking.. what u guys think
One thing to consider is playing around 40 to 50 bbs. You're then often commited with many hands that would be tough decisions. You can play close to the same number of hands, although you would fold some of them in raised pots that you may call with if you had better implied odds.

Re: Short stacking.. what u guys think
IMO it's 10 times better to play NL10 with full buyin than NL25 with $5-$10. You always get full value out of your hands and if you have an IQ higher than 60 you'll crush those tables. This is the ultimate truth to at least up to NL100.
