Default Can the cameras see how many chips you had?

Reading some threads where people say the cameras can't see the cards, makes me wonder. If I go to the john and leave a big pile of chips, what happens if someone steals from me and then leaves? Suppose he just takes one or two chips off of each stack - am I going to be able to prove how much I had? Will the casino reimburse me?

I understand if the camera can't count out stacks - but it's actually pretty worrisome if it can't discern whether someone took one or two chips, for instance.

What happens in such cases?

A guy in a suit tells you, "Sorry, the view from above was inconclusive, we didn't see anything, we're not responsible for your money, blahblahblah..."
