Starting Out in the Evening
We went to see this because of the raves Frank Langella has been getting. Meh. He's good in it. The movie is slow and boring. A bit derivative of the much better Venus of last year. Skip it.

Re: Starting Out in the Evening
Ever see that "Sherlock Holmes" play that Langella did for HBO back in the day? It was a play, on stage in a theater, filmed for HBO (a pre-teen kid named Christian Slater had a prominent role). I can't think of Langella without thinking of that. He was awesome. I was a kid when it came out, and I watched it every time it aired.
MORIARTY: ...and you will have no choice. LARRABY: (outraged) No choice??? MORIARTY: (firmly) No choice. No choice. No choice. No choice. (For the next ten years, if any of my friends used the words "no choice", they were immediately echoed for several minutes.) |
