Reposting this because I forgot to include hand in my last post.
My read on UTG is that he plays sorta fishy. He floats the flop a lot in random dumb spots. Basically, UTG has been donking it up and playing a ton OOP and sizing his bets like a retard. He has minraised UTG before, and has show down weak hands. My image has been tight/solid. Stakes: 5/10 (5 handed) Stacks Hero ($2682) UTG ($4kish) Preflop UTG raises $20, 1 fold, Hero raises $140 with 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] , SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls $120. Flop ($280) A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG checks, Hero bets $240, UTG calls. Turn ($720ish) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG checks, Hero bets $625, UTG raises $1250, Hero unhappily pushes his last 1k in. why does AxKc minraise turn here? .. then again he's a donk
maybe a better line is less preflop; your stack-to-pot is 8 here and you're pretty much committed if you set up, which sucks 260bb deep with bottom set. make it 80-100 pre and you could (maybe) get away from it if the turn comes bad like this. what does everything think of checking behind turn and evaluating river? i like it because 1. free chance to fill up with position, 2. not really missing value because he's shown previously that he minraises UTG with trash preflop, 3. getting raised here is ugly. |

WTF at preflop? Why not just limp?
Anyways, if he's a donk, then I don't see why u hate getting it all in on this turn. |

Really hate pre-flop, you're getting called virtually always and he's calling you down the whole way if a) he hits top pair or b) can beat your "AK." Versus that type of player, just calling is better.
I'd probably check behind on the turn, it's a pretty bad card for you and the Ac on the board really doesn't mean anything versus a donk that will play any two suited cards. Once you bet the turn I don't think you can really get away. Kirk |
