A spot I constantly missplay
In both hands figured I'd induce, but I find myself giving too many free SDs with these marginal hands. Who donks these rivers hoping to get an Ace high/small pair calldown?

Re: A spot I constantly missplay
Check raise both flops and keep betting. You get called down by a ton of worse hands and your flop check/raises with the goods balance your check/raises with draws and induce more action when you have a monster. The fact that you sometimes lose an extra bet to a better hand every so often is a small price to pay for all that you gain.

Re: A spot I constantly missplay
I usually balance my call down rountine with checkraises, but in steal situations their range is so wide, I want them to continue to run hopeless bluffs or pair their weak kicker.
Plus, it's always nice when you get to peel both streets for one SB, because they fear you're trapping them. |

I like a WAWB line ch/call ch/call donk river in the second hand against an agro opponent. The first hand I think ch/r is better because people spew paired flops with less than top pair all the time.

Re: A spot I constantly missplay
It's not that I'm afraid I have a worse hand, it's figuring out a balance between inducing and checkraising, which of course depends on the player and the board texture.
I don't like checkraising when they would've bet off their J7 or something, and I don't like inducing when they would've paid off a checkraise all the way. An imperfect science. |

Re: A spot I constantly missplay
first hand you loose tons of value by not c/r the flop. If you have super read that he bets A-high UI on any board but folds to a c/r maybe it can be done but that is so rare it's just theoretical.
Hand two you must bet river as played since he'll check behind a lot of hands you beat and won't raise many non-flush hands given the board and your play. As a standard you should c/r this flop in hand two as well. |
