3/6 Online UTG has $13 and is pot commited.
Preflop: Hero is on the Button with J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG calls 3, 1 fold, Hero raises to 6, 1 fold, BB calls 3, UTG calls 3. Flop (19.50) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets 3, BB calls 3, UTG raises to 6, Hero raises to 6, 1 fold, UTG moves all-in for 1. If I dont raise the flop, UTG is left with $1 which 'has' to go in on the turn, should I have saved the 3 bet, and tried to build a side pot with the BB ? On the other hand, was the 3 bet correct, so I could isolate UTG ? |

Raising the third player out is fine.
Pot is fairly big and you have a greater chance of winning if you spike a K or J if its headsup. And who knows... maybe K high is good against UTG. He could have something like JT and is putting his money in. |

I think an argument can be made for calling (and not 3 betting). You're in good shape with your draw and overs and in position. Most likely, BB will check the turn to you, so you should be able to peel a free river card.
I think you're the favorite here and can stand some pot-building action. |

I like the raise. Isolating against UTG is great. BB is going to fold overs, which is good because he's ahead of you an awful lot here. When BB has a hand or a draw, he's often calling 2 and giving you a free turn card, which is better than letting him in for only one and not freezing him on the turn as often.
