Default Need quick advise on minor hotel-room damage....

Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, cigarette burn in the nice foot-rest thing (ottoman?)...will they charge me? What's my play? See how the maids react tomorrow? Apologize while checking out? Don't draw attention to it and see if they let it slide/charge x-amt to debit-card? I put the chance of its not getting noticed at very slim. Fwiw, there's also a small cig burn on the carpet...

i use to work in a upscale hotel in Detroit. your best play is to do nothing. its very hard to prove that you caused the damage considering this is a smoking room.

You both worked at an upscale hotel in Detroit?

Seriously, though, thanks...

I don't understand why you would do this. Just do nothing. Find out later if they decide to charge you anything. I've caused various bits of minor hotel damage over the years and never been charged for any of it. Most hotels consider it normal wear & tear I'm sure.

Say it was already there if they ask you about it.
