Small Stakes Digest- January 1st, 2007

A new year has come upon us! Each year they seem to go by more quickly. In looking at this last year, it proved to be one of great change for online poker players. When Party made it's huge announcement after the anti-gaming legislation passed, most American poker players were in panic and subsequently sent scrambling for a new place to play. The largest effects of these changes have yet to be seen, in my opinion. That is not meant in an ominous way, as it is simply a logical assessment based on what has happend, what will happen as a result of changes due to legislation, and what has yet to happen in terms of this legislation. That said, good poker players must know how to adjust. Usually when we refer to "adjusting" in poker, it is in reference to altering strategy versus a specific type of player whose characterstics dictate that to maximize value it may be necessary to deviate from what is usually accepted as the best strategy(in a vacuum)by default. I would venture to guess the ability to adjust is one of the most profitable attributes for a player to have in his poker quest. But today, our need for flexibility is outside of the traditional sense referring to adjusting poker strategy. No, it isn't just seat selection, or picking a limit, or loosening up verse someone. Now it is evaluating your poker future on the internet, and online poker as viable means of poker play and income. So good luck to all of you in your adjusting to the new online poker world. With proper planning and some luck we can keep grinding for a while longer. Best Wishes.

Nice diggest, but one comment: why are the links in threaded-mode? It is so annoying to read.
