Likelihood of undefeated Pats
They're already grumbling about it in the media. Yes, they go through this every year, often with more than one team. The went through this with Indy last year. Also the Pats' opponents weeks 1-4 have been poor (record of 4-8 outside of Pats games). But this team looks impressive regardless.

Re: Likelihood of undefeated Pats
Pats have a 0% chance, because if they get homefield Billy B won't play his players.

After this Sunday I'm going to cry and then get a picture taken of me pissing on Soldier Field. I'm thinking about betting that the Pats go undefeated during the regular season this year. I've got like $200 left in my Stars account. If somebody wants to give me decent odds and is willing to put the money up with an intermediary until the bet concludes, post it here and I'll consider. EDIT: Remaining schedule, for reference. Wk 5: CLE @DAL @MIA WAS @IND Wk 10: Bye @BUF PHI @BAL PIT NYJ MIA @NYG |

Hasn't he always played his stars in previous years? In the last game of the 2004 season, Brady played well into the 4th quarter despite the Patriots being locked into the 2 seed. In the last game of the 2003 season, Brady played well into the 4th quarter despite the Patriots being up 28-0 at halftime against the Bills (they won 31-0). I forget if they had the #1 locked up. A Patriots loss and Chiefs win would have resulted in both teams being 13-3 with a 10-2 conference reacord (no heads-up game). They had a bye locked up. |

It's totally different when your team is 15-2 and has home field locked up. But no coach in the history of the NFL would sit players with a chance at being the first to lead his team to an undefeated 16-game-long season. It looks like there's an awful lot of people out there certain the Pats won't make it but unwilling to put up money until they lose. |

Re: Likelihood of undefeated Pats
I think the Colts might have. I think it's better to not though. Colts looked much smoother going into the playoffs last year with a 12-4 record rather than weeks off and losing to the first round in 2005 with a 14-2 record.
