Re: standard OP against donk?
id rather check behind on turn then fold to a river bet, or valuebet 2/3 pot if river blanks and checked to.

id rather check behind on turn then fold to a river bet, or valuebet 2/3 pot if river blanks and checked to. [/ QUOTE ] Villain seems quite passive? At least I thought that if I get raised there, I am so beat I can easily fold (he wouldnt suddenl raise with a draw for example). But he is also loose enough that he might call a nice VB. That was my reasoning. I generally take the "bet turn, take free SD" -line a lot against passive, loose players. Against aggros, I might induce a bluff more often. edit: I would also fire turn with air because overcard hit, so now that I actually have something.... |

Re: standard OP against donk?
i play it the same. that is, because i would often bluff at the Ace hitting and to get value from draws.

[/ QUOTE ] If I'm checking behind on the turn I'm snap-calling a river bet on a non-spade river. That's the line I'd prefer to take here, check the turn and call most rivers. Make a little over 1/2 pot value bet if checked to. |

Re: standard OP against donk?
I like the way this was played. A turn bet allows you to fold to a c/r and check behind the river, assuming he doesn't donk into you (which I find that smarter villains often do in such a spot). There's a good chance your hand is still best after the ace hits, so a turn bet gets value from draws and low pairs, has some fold equity, and gives you a shot at a showdown. This is a good line.
