Wierd river spot on interesting board vs big river bet
Not much in the way of reads but villain just sat down and Pahud says he plays around 36/11 over 1k hands (datamined).
Thoughts on turn check? I was really torn between betting and checking. I hate to bet/fold this because I think I leave my self open to be bluff raised on the turn when I double barrell this card, but it's hard to say if this player is capable of such a play. Anyways I took the safe route and checked behind, and he fires pretty big on the river. Wtf could he have? Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $2/$4 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $290.69 BB: $400.00 UTG: $416.70 Hero (MP): $416.00 CO: $716.50 BTN: $1,589.02 Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG calls $4.00, Hero raises to $20.00, 4 folds, UTG calls $16.00 Flop: ($46) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG checks, Hero bets $36.00, UTG calls $36.00 Turn: ($118) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG checks, Hero checks River: ($118) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG bets $99.00, Hero ??? |

I fold. If the J were black, minraise.

I like turn check here, planning to fold this river.
If villan calls a lot of flops and is semi aggressive on later streets I can see a call, but I doubt this opponent is. |

i'd fire turn value from pr + fds and tens in case the 4th [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] hits
as played i think it's a pretty easy fold. he's slowplayed a flush/trips and now realises theres no money in the pot. |

Looks like he didn't want to scare you away with a $100 bet
anyways, I think this is definitely a fold. |

Re: Wierd river spot on interesting board vs big river bet
I agree that this is a fold, one I typically make. Something felt really wierd about his bet though and I looked him up. He had Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and MHIG. Some serious range merging is all I can think of.

well once you check behind turn, lots of his floated pairs are gonna turn themselves into bluffs on the river.
