He's overbet shoving because he has the nuts or the near nuts, and you should fold.

i only lose to QJ/55. I've seen these types do this w/ weakish top pair hands so I'm not too worried about the flop.

Hmmm, sounds like an epidemic. In the last two days I've bumped into two separate (and bad) players who liked nothing more than to make huge overbet pushes. I've called and won three of those four pushes, never with a hand stronger than top two pair:

Full Tilt Poker, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

CO: $110.70
BTN: $86
SB: $128.05
Hero (BB): $220.35
UTG: $101.50

Pre-Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
2 folds, BTN calls $1, SB calls $0.50, Hero checks

Flop: ($3) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks, <font color="red">BTN bets $3</font>, SB folds, <font color="red">Hero raises to $10</font>, <font color="red">BTN raises to $85 and is All-In</font>, Hero calls $75

Turn: ($173) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

River: ($173) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Results: $173 Pot ($3 Rake)
BTN showed 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (two pair, Eights and Fours) and LOST (-$86 NET)
Hero showed 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (two pair, Tens and Eights) and WON $170 (+$84 NET)

OK, so I should have folded the last one -- what can I say? I got greedy. Suffice it to say that somewhere, someone is doing a webinar on how to use a Kill Phil strategy to beat cash games, and the fish are all signed up.

Whoever it is, we need to find them and send them a fruit basket to show our appreciation.
