Trying to get max value from a set
2/5 NL at Foxwoods. I have about 1300 in front of me, villians both have me covered. I really only care about my turn line I think, and I think it's standard but I'm just checking.
I am one off from the CO with 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villian 1 I'm not really sure if he's a good player, he's probably not awful, but I don't think he's that great either. He's pretty aggressive, and I haven't seen him get out of line. I think Villian 2 is a good player although he hasnt been at the table very long. He managed to stackadonk maybe 30 minutes previous and thats how he has his stack mostly. He got the donk to push with AA against his flopped set. I believe him when he raises PF for having a good hand, probably TT+ Villian 1 in EP+2 makes it 30 to go (standard raise for the table, this would often get called in 3-4 spots actually). Donk to my right calls, and I call. Villian 2 OTB makes it 130 to go, Villian 1 calls quickly, and donk to my right calls all in and I call. I believe both players probably have good hands, and I'm looking at 13:1 here for set value (implied odds, if I can get one of them to stack off), and I suppose possible that both of them could go all in at some point after the flop. I don't care about the donk b/c he's all in and is probably looking to get lucky or leave. I suppose comments on this part would help, but it seems like a pretty standard call. So we're looking at approximatly 530ish in the pot including my call before the flop. Flop comes: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] OR (villian 1) bets out 150, I call, villian 2 thinks a little and folds. I called here because I was hoping for villian 2 to come over the top, or possibly just call and then hope for villian one to push/bet turn hard and maybe even make villian 2 feel he's committed. I just think this is a better line because if I raise, villian 2 can fold a lot easier. Turn comes 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villian bets out 300, I push for about 800 more. villian thinks the longest I've seen anyone think ever, probably. It felt like a good 3-4 minutes. I guess I want comments on this part. I figure a push is best here because a min raise would probably telegraph my hand, and we've only got 800 behind (800 more than his 300 bet), so making it 900 to go just doesn't make sense. It just seems like a real clear push or fold situation. He'd have to call 800 to win about 1600, so thats kinda decent odds for whatever hand he's got. Also, I don't want the flush to hit, and I think I'm pretty happy winning the pot right there. Are there any alternative lines? Thanks for reading. |

I just call again and get it in on the river. Hopefully the heart misses so we can rep a bluff.
