EV Calculations
How do you guys estimate EV vs range of hands? I play 10NL and I thought the best way to do it on the fly is to think of the hands that are equally likely based on villian's line and look at the ratio of hands I beat to hands I am behind. The part that is confusing is counting things twice. or example, if there are 16 combinations of AQ and 6 combinations of AA and he would play each hand the same way on a Q high board, then is that 22 hands or do you have to take into account overlapping Aces. Or do you handle it differently if you are ahead of AQ but behind AA? Thanks!!

Re: EV Calculations
I think it is also good to do EV calcs on our own time as this will give you a feel for what variables to consider.
To answer your combo question he can't have AA and AQ could he? So his range would include 12(there is Q out there so your 16 figure is incorrect) and 6 combos of AA. |
