This is not a good starting hand. You have a much reduced chance of hitting your flush, as you hold another two flush cards in your hand. Further, you will mostly only make really poor straights in small pots. It is likely if you make a straight with this hand that your opponent will be freerolling on you, at least (presuming you make the nut straight). For these reasons, and more, it is probably often not worth limping with this hand -- let alone standing a raise or more. Bob Ciaffone has made the starting hand section of his book, `Pot-Limit Omaha,' available online here: http://pokercoach.us/OMch.htm. I suggest that you read this, and generally follow his principles in assessing your starting hands. You can also find some threads on starting hand selection by using the forum search. Good luck with trying to learn Pot-Limit Omaha, it is a fun and rewarding game. |
