Default 5 questions after a year break

I haven’t played online in over a year, I live in the US and to be honest I thought the crackdown was going to bigger than it was and after that real life got in the way.

1) People keep saying certain sites aren’t for U.S. players (cake etc..) Why is this? Is it simply that these sites will have nothing to do with people from US addresses?

2) Is Party Poker still decent to play on?

3) Poker Tracker and Poker Ace still good on FTP, Stars and Party?

4) Any recommendations for deposits and withdrawals? I want to use Epassporte however read a ton of negative feedback about them here. Currently looking into money gram but worry about withdrawals.

5) I assume the majority of U.S. players that still play are decent (or at least persistent) what hours would people recommend to maximize my fish pool?

1. A lot of sites don't accept U.S. customers these days. Cake Poker is not one of them. It has to do with legislation that was passed last year that basically put online poker in a gray(er) situation. It's harder to move money to and from sites because banks don't want to take any chances.

2. I don't know because I'm U.S. and they don't let me play there.

3. Yes. PokerTracker version 3 is currently in development and is supposed to be released by the end of the year. There is another program called Hold 'Em Manager that will be released around the same time. Both have built-in HUDs. I'm waiting to see them both to see which is better.

4. Moneygram/check. When I cash out my checks normally arrive in about 5-6 business days.

5. Nighttime U.S. time.

Thanks for the time for a great response man.

Do you recommend cake for play? Currently looking at FT for rakeback and bonus clearing then may move.

From what I've heard cake has pretty good games BUT the software isn't all that great. It's not easy to play multiple-tables. But they do have that $600 bonus and a bunch of other promotions. You can even get 33% rakeback.

The biggest sites for U.S. players are PokerStars and Full Tilt.

PokerStars has a new and improved VIP program that awards fpps and milestone bonuses for high volume players. Not too many bonuses there though.
