Default QJs ITM 6.50

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (3 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero raises to t1200, 1 fold, BB calls t800.

Flop: (t2050) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t800, BB calls t800.

Turn: (t3650) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t1600, BB raises to t2355, Hero calls t755.

River: (t8360) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: t8360

I figured this was a decent starting hand Preflop. The bet on the flop was maybe not so smart, just seeing if he hit or not. Ideas/suggestions?

I think I just open shove this one preflop considering opps' stack sizes and the blinds.

As played, if you want to bet the flop, bet it harder - at least 1200 to go. On the turn, just put him AI.

This seems correct.

I'd usually just shove PF. If there was a situation where you'd rather standard raise (say BB had t5500 and SB was shorter) I'd make it t1000 instead of t1200.

I'm an idiot.

Effective stack = 11x BB. EASY SHOVE.

this is one of the rare times that i will limp preflop. mainly because you don't get both blinds to fold often enough, this is a nice drawing hand and i play it that way to mix it up a little. no sense jeopordizing your chip lead on such a marginal hand. standard raising is ok,too. after that i think you played it fine.

Bet more on the flop....like 12 or 13 hundred.

as played, I'd probaby check/give it up on the turn. Most villians will re-raise you all-in if they have a T here.....he could be calling with a flush draw, but I think 3 handed ITM, a lot of villians would even check-raise a flush draw all-in here.....to me his smooth call just screams that he has an 8. I'd likely check turn and on the river I might call a small or medium bet.

Reads help here, but barring any reads, I would likely slow down pretty fast on the turn....although betting more on the flop would help make the decision to slow down on the turn more clear because with such a small flop bet, he might just be calling your flop bet with something as weak as A high....

shove preflop. as played, if you c-bet, c-bet more but id often check behind and stack off after turning a J...as played to the turn, stack off on the turn, dont flat call
