Am I just running hot?
I've been playing PLO for 2 weeks straight 2 or 3 tabling 1/2 2/4 and sometimes 3/6 and 5/10 if the game is really juicy and have been averaging roughly 1k in profit a day and have had one small losing session (aside from one day where I was up 2.5k then played HU 5/10 on tilt and gave it al back which was an even day). Is this sustainable or am I just running ridiculously hot? Are the games this soft?
This may sound like a retarded post but just wondering if there are a ton of guys out there that are consistantly crushing PLO games or is such a high variance game going to catch up. *Edit I did'nt just start playing omaha 2 weeks ago, I've played PLO on and off for like 3 years with mixed results and I started out playing poker in O8 which is very different but definetely helps. |

Re: Am I just running hot?
lol... I think that's a very important question.
The Stars games at those levels (I've only played the lower ones you're talking about) are definitely not soft. Frankly, I think even the .50/1 has gotten a lot better and isn't just completely trivial to beat consistently. That being said, an average of $1k / day at 5/10 would be just 100 BB/day (not ptbb). If you play 500 hands a day, that would be 20 BB/100 = 10 ptbb/100. That's a REALLY good win-rate in that game, and I think you'd have to play exceptionally well in all situations to do that, but it's not so high as to be completely unrealistic if you throw in maybe some good table selection (difficult at those stakes) and are a really gifted player. Of course, even that is going to have variance. |
