I think a bet is best here. Neither of them have shown much strength and i think you see folds enough to make a bet here profitable. It is going to be hard for sb to call your bet with A-high or a small pair with the BB left to act and BB often has as little as overs.

i think i check. i don't think both guys are folding that often and it sucks to get raised here. i would rather check and get a nice raise in on the river if i hit

This is a sound observation. Although I can't see us folding many pairs, a passively played nine isn't much to fear, SB could have anything, and semi-bluffing the TAG BB off higher overcards or even a wheel draw would be a nice coup. Inducing folds one time in five equals profit.

Not everyone will donk or c/r the flop with a nine versus a preflop raiser. Many will go for a c/r on the turn though, so I wouldn't put too much stock in the non-show of strength so far.

And this is actually a good card for a small pair as it makes it less likely that Hero one, so I don't think a bet here will make small pairs fold.

However, a bet could fold most naked Kings and Aces and buy the pot for you now or allow you to win on the river UI.

You have to balance that against the chance that someone has a nine or a pocket pair. I think it's worth a shot. If you have to call a raise you have nine outs.

On the other hand I think just taking the free card and folding the river UI has a lot of merit also.

The bet is higher risk but comes brings a higher chance of reward. I think you can chose either successfully.
