Let's say you have a block of 4 tickets to an assigned seating entertainment event. One friend buys the tix and then distributes them before the event. Should you sit in your exact assigned seat or any one of the 4 seats assigned to your group? What if one of your friends sits in your assigned seat. Should you pull rank and say dude that's my seat? Is that an A-hole thing to do or not?

I would consider all 4 seats fair game.

All four seats are fair game and on a first to sit basis.

This would be a question to ask the dude that bought the tickets. He may have given them out in the order he wanted. If he took the aisle seat for himself, he probably wants it.

Boris,
Frankly I wouldn't want to go to an event with someone so nitty that they would enforce the assigned seats, nor have I ever seen them divvied up beforehand in a way that assigns them. You sit in whatever order makes sense, the tickets are just to prove that you have the right to sit there. |

i would say all seats are fair game, but there are some "common-sense" considerations. for example if the four people attending consist of one couple and two single people, then if single guy sits in seat 2, the second single guy must sit in seat 1 so the couple isn't separated.

Only time i think you should "pull rank" is if its an aisle seat, or the seat next to it has a fine girl sitting in it. If neither of those apply, i say any seat will do
