Default Do you carry a weapon?

Do any of you regularly carry weapons on you. Please elaborate if you do. Is it part of your job? Have you always?

[/ QUOTE ]

I used to carry a small very sharp knife, but that was when I moved furniture, and I usually ended up using it as part of my job during the day. Since I don't do that anymore I usually don't have any sort of weapon on me.

There's so many [censored] crazy 150 pound dogs in my neighborhood that I have seriously considered getting a can of mace or something.

One of my friends used to carry a butterfly knife when he was going to JC. He had a tiny little CRX and would try to intimidate people out of parking spots by openning and closing his knife.

One of my friends in high school, used to carry a baseball bat in his trunk.

A lot of my friends carry leatherman type tools that have a knife, but it's mostly for tool purposes.

I don't think I've know anyone who carried a gun where it wasn't part of their job.

I haven't decided whether carrying a weapon is a good idea. It seems like on average it would probably get you into more trouble than out of, but I could change my mind still.

About the time that Daddy left to fight the big war
I saw my first pistol in the general store
In the general store, when I was thirteen
Thought it was the finest thing I ever had seen
So l asked if I could have one someday when I grew up
Mama dropped a dozen eggs, she really blew up
She really blew up and I didn't understand
Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

The devil's right hand, the devil's right hand
Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

My very first pistol was a cap and ball Colt
Shoot as fast as lightnin' but it loads a mite slow
Loads a mite slow and soon I found out
It can get you into trouble but it can't get you out
So then I went and bought myself a Colt 45
Called a peacemaker but I never knew why
Never knew why, I didn't understand
Cause Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

Well I get into a card game in a company town
Caught a miner cheating I shot the dog down
Shot the dog down, watched the man fall
Never touched his holster, never had a chance to draw
The trial was in the morning and they drug me out of bed
Asked me how I pleaded, not guilty I said
Not guilty I said, you've got the wrong man
Nothing touched the trigger but the devil's right hand.

I will be getting my concealed carry permit when I turn 21, right now I don't carry anything.

What reason are you getting this for? Do you need a good reason in MN?

Those gophers are pretty ferocious and can sneak up on you when you least expect it.

That's funny.

I actually had a friend who did some of those form competitions with swords. I don't know what they're called, but it's not against anyone, just you showing your moves.

Anyway, he was practicing w/ a real sword in a park in San Diego (not crowded small neighborhood park w/ no one nearby), and a cop pulled up and made him stop. I forget if he got a ticket or anything... I think he just got a warning.
