Blind steal, river decision, K6
5/10 Euro, 5-max
Folded to me in the SB with K6o, I raise, Villain calls in BB. I think I'm readless, I don't remember now. Flop is 346r. I bet, villain raises, I three-bet, villain cap. Turn, 6BB Turn is a 9. Check/check. River, 6BB, card is a 7. Bet/call, bet/fold, check/call, check/fold? |

Re: Blind steal, river decision, K6
I check here, it appears the way that he played it as though he had a straight draw. The seven would complete the open ended straight draw that he seemed to be raising with.
I would probably check/fold, but I could see a check/call being ok. |

Re: Blind steal, river decision, K6
Check-call. I think it's pretty important to see showdown here so you can see what kind of hand villian capped the flop with. It sure looks like he capped with 5x, but some opponents will go nuts on this flop with AT+ or even 3x/4x, so check-fold would be bad.

Re: Blind steal, river decision, K6
This would be much easier with a read (where IMO it would usually be a check-fold), but against an unknown I'd check-call. Although we really look like we're behind a rational opponent here, we're not yet sure if he's rational or not.

Re: Blind steal, river decision, K6
Looking at villain's stats now, he is 48/11/2 or so over 35 hands, so you can probably disregard the postflop number. I think I had at least 20 when we played this, so assume he's loose-somewhat aggro. Still c/c?
Also, ok, looking at the hand history I see I made some mistakes, and this ought to be a river c/fold...here's the hand as was actually played... Preflop, I raise red K6o, he calls in the BB. Flop is 346, two spades. Bet/raise/reraise/cap. Turn is a 2x. Check/check. River is a J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Now should be an easy fold, really looks like a flush draw eh? |
