ok to play 43 suited otb with 3 callers, blinds probably wont raise? what about a10o utg in a tight, or loose game?

Unless you are an expert at post flop play, these are both folds. Even if you are an expert, these are very marginal.

I don't like either of these even in a loose game.
I wouldn't play the small suited connectors (lower than like 78) anywhere except for a discount from the blinds.
ATo from EP is also bad because if it gets raised and then the A hits what do you do? You are often going to call it down and see you are losing to AK, AQ.

Porkchop - If you don't play any of the small suited connectors - 45s, 56s, & 67s - anywhere but the blinds, then you're playing too tight. These hands can be very profitable in a loose/passive game with lots of limping from later positions. I'll even throw in some suited gappers - 46s, 57s - otb.

To play AT UTG, the game has to be loose and more importantly, very passive. Kinda game where people are playing any Ax. If you have some type of read on the late position players that they like to spew if checked to, that's a +, b/c this would allow you to c/r the flop, protecting your hand somewhat.

43s, I think you are better off just tossing it, even OTB. Situations may exist where you could play it profitably, but they would exist rarely.

Yeah I think the key message is that playing 43s on the button behind a bunch of limpers is less dangerous and more justifiable than playing ATo under-the-gun in a full game.

i agree. UTG ATo is a muck in most every game i'm in.

It's just a personal thing I guess. I just don't play those real low ones because they have absolutely no high hand value and I hate making the flush and either losing to someone who played K5s or hitting on the turn and then having the 4th suited hit the riv and losing to a big card of that suit.
Now give me 8Ts or 78s after two limpers in LP and I'm in the hand.

Sometimes someone may have a bigger flush, but sometimes someone makes a bigger flush when you have QJs too. Played well, these hand are money makers in position.
