PS invited me to be captain of my state's team in the World Poker Cup

What's involved in this World Poker Cup and being captain? They said I was the highest on their TLB for my state last year.

Read the webpage. There was another thread about this where we were asking questions after getting these invite emails, but no one responded with any worthwhile information.

It sounds to me like you may have to send a few emails to your team (as captain), play July 22nd and August 5th, and then if you win go to Spain to play in September for the chance of splitting 100K 5 ways.

Edit: I'm doing it, though. Why not? At the very least you can get a free trip to Spain, where you can sit in a poker room (or banquet hall converted into a poker room), and not actually get to see any of Spain, except for when you are going to/from the airport.

I don't know if I'll bother with this, particularly with being captain and notifying people. What is the chance you actually get a trip to Spain and a shot at prize money?

I think you have to win (your team get the most points) first in a regional (other states in your area) and then national (the other regions + 2 national teams).

I wonder if i'm the worst captain in the US... do i actually have to play with the people who qualified or just play a tourney?

i definitely have a [censored] team... and i suck too so don't worry about us stoners in VT

[/ QUOTE ]You just play a tournament. For you and me it'll likely be not too good a chance of advancing. I was initially told I was in group 2, but I am registered with the captains and the 4 people listed as on my team have a cumulative $2100 in pokerdb winnings...
