Default Basic Math Question

If I have played 450 hands of .25/.50 6 Max and I want to figure out how much of my money has been put into the pot on my blinds is this the correct formula? If this is the wrong forum for this type of question I apologize to the Moderators.

Big Blind Formula - 450(hands played)/6(6 seats at table) = 75. 75 x .50 (price of bb) = 37.50 then Divide that number by 2 again and you get $18.75

Is that correct?

It will cost you 75 cents for every cycle in blinds (sb+bb) .

You will have played 75 cycles which would cost you .75*75=56.25 in total .

Which means 37.5 represents all the BB's and 18.75 represents all the sb's .

The game referred to as $0.25/$0.50 usually has a big blind of $0.25 and a small blind of $0.10 for a total of $0.35 per round, not $0.75.

Does that mean my Big Blind Formula was correct then BruceZ? Anyone else who would be able to confirm it please do.

Yes, if the big blind is $0.25, then it is $18.75 for 75 orbits. When you say "75 x .50 (price of bb) = 37.50", I'm assuming that by "bb" you mean big BET which is $0.50, rather than "big blind" which is $0.25, and that is why you divided by 2.

Yeah, I wasn't explaining the second time I divided by two, and I did call the Big Bet the Big Blind.. Thanks for the correction and the help.

I'm not mixing up anything. A .25/.50 game means that the bet size on the first 2 rounds of betting is 25 cents = 1 small bet, and the bet size for the last 2 rounds is 50 cents = 1 big bet. A big blind is generally 1 small bet. For .25/.50 that is 25 cents, and for .10/.25 that would be 10 cents. The small blind is some fraction of the big blind. For .25/.50 online it is usually 10 cents. For .10/.25 it is usually 5 cents.

He's right on for limit, however you would be right if we are discussing nl since tables are listed as to the blind structure. Although on this forum, nl games are generally labeled by the max buy in - IE .01/.02 nl would nl$5

TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER: PLEASE DISTINGUISH WHETHER YOUR QUESTION REFERS TO LIMIT OR NO-LIMIT GAMES. We're all willing to help, but we'd like to avoid confusion as we give you an inappropriate answer for your preferred game.

This is also why I use BBL and BBet to try to minimize the ambiguity, although in this case it wouldn't help.
