Question about value of the US dollar
Hi everyone, I don't visit this forum much, and I apologize if this question is stupid, has already been covered or doesn't belong here.
I'm from Sweden. The last few days there's been a significant change in the exchange rate for US$ -> Swedish krona (I'm getting more SEK for my $ than I can remember ever getting, yay), for reasons I'm sure you guys understand better than I do. My basic question is this. Do you guys believe this is only a short term fluctuation in the market, or is it likely this will continue (or will at least not go back to "normal")? In other words, is it likely I'm in a real hurry to cash out most of my poker bankroll sitting around in neteller doing nothing, or is it advisible to wait a while and see what happens? Thanks everyone for your help. |

Re: Question about value of the US dollar
As long as there are no follow-up questions, I am of the opinion that it is going straight down the drain.

Thanks everyone for your help. [/ QUOTE ] The long term fundamentals for the USD are weak, and the long term fundamentals for the krona are strong. Over time, the krona should strengthen against the dollar, but this may take a while. For the past couple of weeks, the dollar has in fact strengthened against the euro, and the krona has weakened significantly against the euro, resulting in the krona weakening substantially against the dollar. I believe the Sweden is reacting negatively to the global credit crisis, and investors/traders who have bet on Sweden are being forced out of their positions. While I do not believe in this move fundamentally over the very long haul (3 years out let's say), I do think this current trend will continue until things calm down, and that may take a while. |
