Default 2 marginal hands

my table image: TAG solid, played 60 hands
the table = 27 ASF, mostly TAG with a few loose players (bad)

Hand 1:
Limit: $5/$10
9 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
6 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises</font>, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6SB, 3 players)
SB checks, <font color="#cc0000">BB bets</font>, Hero calls, SB calls.

Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4.5BB, 3 players)
SB checks, <font color="#cc0000">BB bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises</font>, SB folds, BB calls.

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (8.5BB, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Results:
Final pot: 8.5BB

BB is loose, cold calls raises, goes to showdown
I was gonna call him down so I figured a free showdown play would work better. I m probably behind but I have outs to improve.

Hand 2:

Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $5/$10
9 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
3 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, Hero calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB checks.

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5SB, 5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP2 checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, Button calls, 3 folds.

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3.5BB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, Button calls.

River: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5.5BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, <font color="#cc0000">Button bets</font>, Hero folds.
Uncalled bets: 1BB returned to Button.

Results:
Final pot: 5.5BB

The button is loose/passive. Since I m gonna draw I m better off doing the betting myself. I dont think he can fold on the river so I check fold.

Are there any better lines here?

I'd raise the flop in hand one then bet the turn for a free showdown. You can c/c the turn in the second hand if he is very loose passive, but generally I play it the same.

First Hand:
Given that BB is loose and goes to showdown often I probably would have folded preflop, but I think your blind steal seems okay with J9. I think the correct play here depends a bit on certain other factors.

I would have raised the flop rather than waited for the turn.

As played, I wonder if we should value bet the river against this opponent.

Second Hand:
I think you should have folded preflop.

I think the flop semi-bluff is okay.

I wouldn't have semi-bluffed the turn.

I think the river check-fold is good.

I agree with allday, except for the turn bet in hand #2. I would've bet there. I think it's important to bet there.

In hand 1, I think it is best to raise the flop with the sb still in.

I agree that I should raise/bet the first hand. I save a small bet and protect my hand against sb. I dont agree with the T9s preflop fold, I had good post flop odds there against the loose blinds + I have position. If I flop something decent they pay me off. What about limping in with hand 1? I dont have much fold equity there. The main reason I raise is to get free cards later in the hand. Fold preflop? J9 is kinda garbage.
