I've said it before and I'll say it again. Go to Best Buy and ask the guy there. He can tell you all there is to know about TVs and he will find you the best possible solution for your budget.

I have a 32" flat panel LCD HDTV from Polaroid. It was only $899 when I bought it. I checked out consumer reviews and it was rated well. I've had it for almost a year and I absolutely love it. Not the brilliant color you'd get from a more name-brand model like Sony or Samsung, but around 1/3 of the cost (the comparable samsung was roughly $2400). I definitely recommend it. For the money, it's the nicest TV I've seen. My friend got the 37" version of the same thing and he's also very happy with it. I suggest picking any tv up in person instead of online shipping though, my friend had tried out 2 different makes/models and had to ship both back to due screen damage. That could just be a fluke, but it's a pain for the $ you're spending.

For a super cheap LCD, the Olevia's seem pretty good.

I picked up a 27" for the bedroom/office at Office Depot (yeah, apparently they sell TVs now) the other day for $469. They have wall brackets for it there too. It looks surprisingly awesome as a computer monitor also (just have to set your display to 1366 x 768). I believe the 32" is about $130 more or so.

Don't go to Best Buy. The blue shirts there are idiots (most of them anyway). Try a higher end electronics store, like Magnolia (owned by BBY). You have a better chance of talking to someone with 1/2 a brain.
