Default my sausage is oozing - safe to eat?

i'm cooking a sausage i found in the back of my freezer. i think it's a sweet italian sausage or possibly spicy italian. it's been on the grill for a few minutes at about 450 degrees and when i flipped it over i saw that it was oozing yellow stuff from 6 or 7 spots (where the grill bars touched it) that looked like vanilla custard. i've never seen that before. what's the deal?

well, i guess it is, but we had some good times while it lasted. i'm sure you'll see it in some best of threads, and man, it'll be great to go back and try to recreate that magic.

i ate the sausage. tasted fine, a little overcooked. i'll report back if i wind up in the ER.

Did it turn out that the yellow stuff was just cheese, or was it really some weird ass yellow ooze? Cheese is okay. Scratch that, cheese is delicious. But random yellow ooze? Trouble.
