I think its a play on words that came from an episode of South Park. Aids as in helpers, not the disease. At least thats probably the origin, since they used a very similar language on the show.

i know the episode you speak of and that type of aids is spelled aides, they even point this out in the show. He is clearly talking about AIDS by the way he spelled and I also visited the facebook group, its a ripoff of a guy who started a group saying he'd bike across the country in support of AIDS if 500,000 people joined his group.
