At NL50: Hero admits that he has been caught stealing and releases quietly...

This happened to me twice yesterday and it was AA both times.. I was like seriously you over-limped (correct phrase?) with AA after 2 other callers? I had AK both times of course and played for stacks pre-flop.

I find that many opponents make this play with middle pocket pairs (66-TT) and hands like AT-AK. The problem with re-re-stealing is that a lot of the time, these hands will call another raise from you, thinking you are bluffing.

I have seen SOOOOO many players make this move and then feel comitted to calling your 4bet (which is good when you have QQ+/AK, but not so much when you have nothing).

A 4bet would commit your stack to the hand- which isnt a great idea with 65s preflop.

I have done one of these things once and I only did it because it met two conditions:

1) It was against a 2p2'er who I knew could fold to a 4bet.

2) My raise was to $2, his 2bet was to $6. I 4bet 87s or 76s to something like $15 with a full stack, so I wouldn't be committing a huge chunk of my stack if he decided to push over the top or call.

So, this play can work, you just need very defined guidelines in which you try to make it. This spot would not fit these guidelines.
