Given the deadness of his pair cards, I think he has a straight, a flush, or a busted draw here the vast majority of the time.

I think so. Given the way the hand was played, I think seat 7 has either made two pairs or hit an inside straight draw. Given that him making two pairs is more likely than hitting the straight, and that the two pairs are likely lower than yours, I believe more often than not you will win this hand and therefore raising will net you more money in the long-run.

In other words, it might be the wrong play this time, but it will probably be the right play most of the time.

I'm not sure a raise is such a good idea. Looks like the possibility of a made straight on 5th for seat 7 (very slim chance he was playing dead 8s on 3rd). Sure, it could be something like Ts and 8s or a pair and 4 diamonds. Seat 3 though looks like a flush draw. If he missed he will fold anyway, and if he hits you will at least get called, if not raised. I can just see so many ways you are behind to a straight or flush that I think just a call can't be too far wrong.

I would just call his bet on river. A raise is not warranted. You don't have a monster and his check on 6th with the bet on 7th indicates to me that he did make something he is happy about on the river.

On 5th, I would consider raising him when he does bet there. I think you could still have the best hand there, could become the best hand again plus you put extra pressure on the 3 seat and 7 seat. In general, 5th street is usually a good place to show some aggression.

Nah can't be that. He checked 6th. Prolly a pair and a gutshot, or some sort of combo draw.

On river I'd call versus an unknown. Also, not raising 5th is bad.

I'd raise 5th street. On the river, I'd just call and hope for an overcall.

Default Hello,Bob! MrBlue stated that NOT RAISING on 5th is bad--

It's NOT BAD,it's a catastrophe!
UR making it too easy for other player(s) to enter the pot with potentials for improving to better hands than yours.
In this spot, either fold or raise! Calling is ur worst play.Sometimes playing cautiously is much worse than playing recklessly.

How can someone outdraw him after the last card is already dealt?
