Default Possible Foxwoods trip this week--advice needed

A old buddy of mine is in town (I live in CT) this week and wants to drive over to Foxwoods to play for a while. He asked if I wanted to come along. But... I'm a college student, and have to pay for a goodly portion of my own tuition.

In other words, the prospect sounds exciting, but I am short on cash.

All good advice on making this decision is welcome.

How soft are the games there? What limits do they spread? Is going on a week night a terrible idea? Is this too big a financial risk if I only can afford to lose ~$100? Help on all subjects needed.

If you can only afford to lose $100 I wouldn't play at all.

But if you're going to play. The games are soft on the weekends, especially 2/4 Limit Hold'em. If you can only afford to lose $100 that's the only game you can play.

2/4 LHE is your best bet. During the weedays it is not as soft as the weekends.

Best of luck,

If you only willing to risk $100, then $2/$4 limit is you're best bet. Those games are crazy soft almost regardless of when you play. Keep in mind going broke is still pretty easy with only $100.

I'm going to be there Friday night. I've never been before. What are the chances I find a $5 craps table?

If you're worried about the money, you won't be playing good poker -- you'll be playing scared poker. You're probably better off not playing at all; there will be poker a-plenty when you have a little more scratch and don't have to be worried about losing it.

Unfortunately, not an exageration. Now $15 and $25 min bet tables will be plenty. No idea if they are 3,4,5 (assuming they are). But you're going to need 5 grand to really play this game.
