Default I\'m no Sheriff...

Time and time again I see HH's containing some of the most insane, mind numbing three or even four street call downs with less than mariginal holdings.

Today's games are so aggro, everyone donks and pro's alike are capable of infinite barrels in any pot regardless of the action or context of the board. I find a lot of my friends and poker peers check call down extremely lightly often, whereas I find this to be an unprofitable play. Between the times I c/f to further heat on future streets and the times I'm wrong and my opponenet actually has it, it just doesn't seem like a +EV play.

So I want to ask you guys, how much of the time are you c/cing oop with marginal hands in the hope that your opponent is STONE bluffing because that's all you can really beat? How does being a sheriff affect your game and if you're like me and rarely are the sheriff what is your reasoning?

Thanks, interested to hear your replies.
