Default How should i act with flush?

Hi,
I would like to know,
If i have the flush, and someone rase my bet, what should i think?
May he got flush either?
I had situation on my home poker that i had flush ( on flop), and the others cards was diamond, and heart.
I had flush with high card of 9, and i raised, one player went with me, and in the river he went all in, i already put around 2/4 from my chips, i foleded, since i afraid that had higher flush.
What i need to do? how i can act? shall i take count such things ?
best rgards.

If you flopped a flush, bet it and got raised i would push all in as it is more likely he has an over pair or a set and is raising because he is scared of fourth card of that suit hitting. It is unlikely he would re-raise you with the nut or king flush so you can be pretty sure your ahead. If by some horrible chance he flopped a slightly higher flush than you then so be it but you cannot afford to slowplay a flopped 9 high flush.

My opinion is if you flop a low flush you should play it fast and try and get your money in before the turn and river cards scare you. It is hard to know if your opponent has also flopped a flush but mathamaticly it is very unlikely and since the flush is a big hand play it strong. If he is re-raising you on a flop consisting of three of a suit id be much more likely to think he has trips, an overpair or the ace of that suit.
