That wasn't the bustout hand. It's the hand that crippled Scotty (he had about 3M after the hand).
You can see the hand on Pokertube (won't do a direct link, not sure if that's allowed here.) Blinds were 80/160 Scotty (SB) has AQo and bets 530k. Has about 11M behind. Hilm (BB with 55) calls Pot T1,160,000 Flop: Q56 rainbow Scotty bets 600k Hilm calls Pot: 2,360,000 Turn is a K Scotty checks Hilm bets 1,200,000 Scotty check-raises all-in Hilm calls and wins. Pot 16,060,000 Hilm wins. Here's the bustout hand: Blinds 80/160 Hilm (UTG) has KQo and bets 480k Scotty (BB) has Tc9c and calls Pot 1,140,000 Flop: 3K7 (two clubs) Scotty pushes (2.28M) Hilm calls No clubs for Scotty and Hilm wins the 5.7M pot. |

It was a horribly -EV play, that's really all you can say about it.

[/ QUOTE ] No worse hand calls and no better hand folds. Even if Hilm was playing him super aggro this still applies. He should have simply check/called turn as his hand is only a bluff inducer/thin value bet catcher at that point. |
