Americon Idol- how many of today's popstars would not make it

So I've been watching American Idol a lot this season (don't laugh). As I'm watching the auditions, I keep thinking that most of today's pop stars would probably get rejected by the 3 judges. I'm no music expert but just based on some of the contestants who get rejected and also based on the one's who make it (they seem waaaay better than many of today's stars), I would think that many of today's stars wouldn't make the cut. The first one that comes to mind would be Britney Spears....no way she would make it based on her singing.

Any others?

i think this thread is ok, but i completely disagree with the OP. Most if not all pop stars would make it past the first round. Britney spears definitly would. She's not a particularly good singer compared to other professionals, but she is considerably better than the vast majority that try out. Also her attractiveness count for a lot. Simon would say something like, "you're not the best singer in the world, but you look like a superstar."

Christina Agulara would be almost a sure thing to win it all.
