Re: AK flops TPTK 100nl
Preflop you should raise a lil more i usually like to raise 4 or 5, as far as the turn goes, it depends on reads, if hes solid or not done anything wacky im folding, hes not raising you with anything less then two pair here. There isnt many cards in the deck that would help you against a set or two pair, so you dont really have odds on calling. Since you do have position i might call and see what he does on the river. If its a less then half the pot i usaully go for a call.

Re: AK flops TPTK 100nl
First off I would open for a little more - $4 would be standard for me.
It looks like he went out of his way to wait until the turn to pop you. And this is after you have twice told him that you have an ace. Unless I have some amazing read on this cat... I'm gonzo. |

Re: AK flops TPTK 100nl
In the best case scenario, this is a very thin call on the turn. This is when villain has something like A4 and you have 3 Kings, 3 Jacks and 3 Nines to beat him.
Add to this the fact that villain will be able to see plain as day whether his two-pair got counterfeited or whether he boated up and play accordingly. So, even after all of this, we will still not stack villain when we improve, but he will double through us or fold when we do improve. Bottom line is your hand is either good or it isn't and that is the decision you have to make since the implied odds aren't present, it doesn't really matter what the river card is. |

Re: AK flops TPTK 100nl
Raise more preflop. I think this is a pretty standard fold on the turn as well.

Re: AK flops TPTK 100nl
A lot of you guys said to raise more, I really just did my standard raise of 3xBB+1 for every limper. At $25NL and $50NL my standard was 4xBB and then 3xBB+1 for every limper after a limper (so on $50NL I'd open for $2 and still raise to $2 after 1 limper). I think here 3xBB is a decent open at these levels though, unless the table gets really crazy.

Re: AK flops TPTK 100nl
Well, you told what your hand was and he check-raised you on the turn. You are either way behind or villain is a playa. Folding is not bad because your stack is going in on an unimproved river and losing a stack with TPTK is bad.

Re: AK flops TPTK 100nl
I usually raise slightly more, but some people do $3 and that's fine.
I'd check behind on the turn....there are no real draws other than a possible gutshot for broadway...no flush possible. Check behind on the turn for pot control and hopefully induce a river bluff. |
