My list of poker advice and concepts which I think are plain bs

1. You were preflop aggressor so you should cbet
2. pp and sc's have enough implied odds to cold call raises in position (vs decent+ opponents)
3. Its better to be a bettor than a caller
4. "You should do A x% of the time and B y% of the time"
5. "two way" bets
6. Call turn and "reevaluate" river.
7. Primary way to combat ppl who play back a lot vs your cbets is to 2barrel more.
8. Overbetting the pot allin on the turn (its always better to bet smaller and bet the rest on the river unless Villain is a donk).

9. Bet because you think you have the best hand. Bet to protect your hand (the latter sometimes has merits but its so rare its better to forget about it at all).

10. "bet/call/do whatever" to "define your hand" or "see where you stand" (jeez I almost forgot about that one.. its my favourite).

I never do nor base my decision on any of the above mentioned things. I think all of them are just some slogans/maxims which doesnt have any analytical basis.
Keep in mind that this is only my humble (but honest !) opinion so dont flame or hate [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

definitely agree with you on 1, 2, 3 and 6. not 100% sure about the rest but they don't seem terrible

a lot of these i think were at one time good concepts but now aren't because of the way the games have changed.

6 could be BS vs donks but if the a river shove is going to be laying you very good odds to call, a good player will realize he can't profitably bluff the river and won't.

I dont claim that you never call turn with a plan to fold river. I just claim the term "reevaluate" doesnt make sense.
