Default Lighter, High Reps or Heavy, low reps?

I'm just getting back into working out after a 3 year break. Trying to lose body fat, and gain some muscle, main concern is dropping fat. I've been doing sets of 10-15 reps at a moderate weight. To lose fat, is it better to do low reps, say 5-8 with heavier weight or what I'm doing now? Any replies appreciated.

Fewer reps, more weight.

trying to lose body fat is more about diet than what type of set/rep scheme you use...some well respected trainers/authors recommend 3 sets of 10-15 for weight loss (cosgrove), while others have programs using 10 sets of 3 (waterbury)...as long as you lift and eat correctly for your goal you will lose weight and maintain as much muscle as possible...
